First Day in ChiTown… we started with a visit to Lake Michigan to get a few shots of the skyline and do a “Welcome to Chicago” drop for the show. It was crazy
to see that Lake Michigan was FROZEN!! Well i guess it wasn’t that crazy when we woke up that morning to the news saying that there would be a high of -3 and with the wind chill it would feel like -20 to -40!!
We left there and went to Chicago’s Home of Chicken & Waffles, Chicago’s version of Roscoe’s.. The food was excellent! I didn’t bring my camera in but when we air the episode from Chicago you will see the restaurant in Historic Bronzeville Chicago.
After that, we linked up with Maya (HU) and drove out to a mural contracted out to an artist that we were going to have the chance to meet the next day.
After kicking it around the city for a while, we got a call stating that Malik was able to meet with us today, he had just got in from out of town and had a couple of hours free before he had to get back in the booth. If you don’t know who Malik Yusef is, Check this out: CLICK HERE
After speaking with good brother Malik, we headed over to Soul Vegetarian to grab some grub and meet with Mikkey Halsted, noted Hip Hop Artist whose hometown is Chicago. If you have not had the chance to check out Mik’s music, check this video out:
