Re-inventing The Bachelor's Refrigerator

For those of you that have been following me for the past few months, you’ve heard me mentioning lifestyle changes that I’ve been making in order to lose weight and live a continued healthier life. I mention GodBody Diet [My Creation], but in all truth, this is a reformed way of eating and living. Food control is one of the first things I knew I had to attack. This meant
really sitting down and thinking about all of the food I “Loved” and “Couldn’t Live Without”. After jotting down my list of foods, I evaluated what made me feel that way; was it the texture? was it truly a unique taste? was there an after effect after eating?

After that was complete, I went to the store and started experimenting with lower calorie, carb, sodium, etc substitutes to see if they produced the same result. I must say, although I grew up on and was used to many mainstream products, 9 out of 10 of the substitutes tasted just the same and produced the same satisfactory results.

There is much more that i want to enlighten you with but I will keep this post short; this is a photo I just took of my refrigerator. Lets break it down section by section:

Section 1.

-Flax Seed Oil (Small black bottle): Flax Seed oil contains Omega -3 and -6 which are both found in fish. these fats have been proven to promote a healthy immune system as well as can help control cholesterol and reduce your chances of heart disease.
-SMART Water: Not an endorsement, just a preference. I have been drinking a gallon of water a day for about 2 weeks. This is prepping me for another 30-day detox. Carrying individual size bottles throughout your day will help you drink a decent amount in sittings instead of walking around with an akward gallon container. These are liter bottles, so one gallon is just under 4 bottles.
-Olives & Organic Marmalade spread: Both are snack options. The olives can be eaten by themselves or as a part of a salad. The marmalade can be spread on a muffin or piece of bread between meals.
-Redline Energy Drinks: i don’t condone the regular use of energy stimulants without the close monitoring from a physician. This is a product that I use sparingly throughout the week.
-I have not had beef in YEARS .. I’m talking about 7-8 years with slip ups I can count on one hand. However, recently, I have decided to include it in my diet as long as it is top grade, organic and/or grass fed. The butcher paper includes a single piece of $18 filet mignon.

Section 2.

-Cage Free Grade A Brown Eggs. My rule of thumb with dairy products is to buy the most expensive product(s). The difference between your regular generic store brand eggs and the top shelf eggs is usually within $1.50/dozen.
-Organic mixed spinach salad in a bag: Great way to get your greens in every day. I usually get through these bags within 2 days to make sure its fresh. You can eat it as a stand alone salad or as a bed to your meat/poultry/fish as a substitute for rice or noodles.

Section 3.

-More Eggs: Eggs are a much better breakfast option than cold cereal.
-Slices Orange: Vitamin C just in time for the weather change.
-More Salad: That one is mixed greens.

Section 4.

-No Sugar Added Madarin Orange slices in juice: Dont get the stuff in the can with syrup. There is a ton of sugar and sodium in those, they dont come with an expiration date either. This is the better substitute.
-Activia Yogurt: Great taste with added digestive help.
-Mixed Organic Mushrooms: Includes portabella & shitake mushrooms, great for the steak.

Section 5.

-No Sugar added juices, organic milk and a gallon of water. If I know I will be at the house or close to it during the whole day, I will choose to drink the water out of the gallon so I know exactly how much more I have to go before I go to sleep.

Section 6.

-Premium Think Sliced Chicken: Great for controlling your proportion size. Each boneless, thin sliced breast is that perfect “deck of cards” size to ensure you don’t over eat.
-(In the Foil) Low Sodium Turkey Bacon: Great addition to morning breakfast without the salt.

Section 7.

-Fuji & Macintosh Apples: Its the fall, so apples are in season and you can find a great variety of apples available at your local farmer or grocer.

Section 8.

-Slim Fast: If you don’t have the time to grab an actual meal or if you can’t put your hands on a healthy snack, meal replacements are great substitutes.

This blog is a piece of a larger system that I will be bringing you shortly that I found to be helpful in shedding pounds, loosing inches, gaining clarity and natural energy. Just the same as any other life changes, you should consult a certified physician before you make drastic changes to ensure your system and current health conditions are prepared. **
