I had the opportunity to meet a good young brother when I participated in the Ford Fiesta Movement.. brother from Chicago who had built his own fan base from a series of webisodes. Come to find out BEFORE I even met him that we had mutual friends in the Chi.. Throughout the Ford initiative we kept in touch and followed each others adventures online and got a chance to admire each of our own movements. Luckily for him, he got snatched up from FORD again to run Part 2 of the program designated for film makers, graphic designers, fashionistas and photographer.
During this campaign, Derek began applying for a Masters Program at Film Schools to sharpen his film making skills and to follow his life long dream. Kudos and hat tips to him again as he announced shortly after that he was accepted to the Masters Program at USC. Yet there was one minor detail that was in his way this time..
The $10,000 needed for the program.
So he began to ask for help. Not only from his family and Real Life friends.. but from his internet family and followers. He held local fundraisers, raffles and drives all for one sake.. to catch his dream. He caught some attention from DR. Pepper and they even pitched in.
